Jakob Demant will join the research council that evaluates applications within the field of Social Sciences and Business.

“It is a privilege to be allowed to sit on the other side of the table for a while. But that doesn’t mean I forget how much work goes into formulating an important research problem and creating the best research design. On the contrary, those are exactly the qualities I hope to help maintain in our independent research. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across disciplines,” says Jakob Demant.

The Board of the Independent Research Fund Denmark has just appointed a total of 13 new members to its five academic research councils. The councils together consist of 75 researchers, and each year they help distribute approximately DKK 2 billion to groundbreaking research.

It is the Fund’s Board that appoints the members and chairs of the councils, while the Minister for Higher Education and Science appoints the members of the Fund’s Board.
