Fundraising and leadership

FAOS is an employment relations research centre at the Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen. FAOS is funded exclusively by external stakeholders. As director of FAOS Søren Kaj Andersen is responsible for the yearly budget averaging DKK 11 million/EUR 1.5 million. The funding of FAOS splits between a basic five-year basic grant and a running portfolio of individual projects. The current five-year grant (app. DKK 7.700.000/ EUR 1.000.000 p.a.) consists of donations from the largest employers’ organisations and trade unions as well as the Danish Ministry of Employment. Among the contributing employers’ organisations are The Confederation of Danish Industries, DI, and among the trade unions The Danish Confederation of Trade Unions. The current basic grant is running from 2019 – 2023.
