Research and impact
A great deal of the knowledge that we live by and use to develop our society originates from research. When society embraces this knowledge, we are talking about impact. Researchers at the Department of Sociology contribute with new knowledge to society within areas such as consumption, sustainability and climate, labour market, gender and equality, health, alcohol and drugs, and social mobility.
The knowledge that we produce should contribute to equip politicians and practitioners to develop our society. This can be through society’s use of our experts in the media or in councils and committees. Through conferences that communicate research directly to practitioners or in the encounter between researchers and collaborative partners. Read more on our ongoing research
