Dr. Hilda Rømer Christensen is associated professor and head of the Coordination for Gender Research at University of Copenhagen. She has written extensively on gender, culture, religion, welfare, citizenship, methods and more lately on gender and diversity in transport and mobility.

From 2010 she is a member of the committee for Welfare and Innovation at the Sino-Danish University Center in Beijing and heads a research project focused on World Dynamics in Micro Perspectives: (Re)making middle Class Families, China – Denmark, including housing, mobility and transport.

She wascoordinator of the  NOS HS research network Gendering Smart Mobilities in the Nordic Region 2017-2018 and is currently scientific coordinator for the Horizon 2020 project: TINNGO addressing gender, transport and smart mobilities in the EU ( 2019-2021).  

Appointed by the EU Commission to the 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Advisory board + The Cross-cutting Gender Advisory Board 2014-2017. In 2020 PI of “Gender in Practice”, an educational project financed by the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science aimed at launching a new one-year program at University of Copenhagen, focused on gender, innovation and digitalisation.
