Employment conditions

Generally, if you have specific questions regarding the conditions, including about pay, leave, etc. you should contact the administrators at HR South and City Campuses (HRSC) at phd@hrsc.ku.dk. See also Kunet.

It is important to point out that as a PhD student at the department you are a “real employee”, which for instance means that being sick or going on holiday requires you to report it to the reception (antsoc@samf.ku.dk). In case of illness; see Kunet.

Also be sure to regularly update your personal homepage at the department – https://kunet.ku.dk/work-areas/research/publishing/curis_registration/ - and your Outlook calendar in order to plan meetings and in case it is necessary to get in touch with you and you are not working from your office (e.g. in case you are working from home). Each employee, as a rule, must take 30 vacation days each year and a maximum of one week can be transferred from one year to the next. Long-term stays abroad are not a hindrance or a substitute for taking vacation and vacation should be taken according to these rules. The department is closed between Christmas and New Year, and it is mandatory to take three weeks of vacation during the summer if you have paid vacation.
